Visit Barcelona With Cheap Holidays

Full of culture, history and the home of Cava, Barcelona is one city you must visit in your lifetime. There are many cheap holidays on offer so why not treat yourself and discover what makes this city so special.

You must…stroll down Las Ramblas: Barcelona airport transfers will take you to the heart of the city. After a quick stop at your hotel, head to Las Ramblas. Lined with stalls, entertainment, delicious foods and cute cafes, is the most famous street in the city. With the harbour at one end, it connects Placa Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus monument, whilst going through the ‘Gothic Quarter’. To discover hidden restaurants and bars that you will want to revisit, take some time to explore the many streets off Las Ramblas.

You must…discover Gaudi: Casa Batllo, with its curved edges and intricate details, is one of the must see buildings created by Antonio Gaudi, that you should appreciate during holidays to Barcelona. Be sure to spend an afternoon in Parc Guell, an enormous and amazing park designed by Gaudi himself. Gaudi’s other famous building is the breathtaking unfinished temple, Sagrada Familia. Push your vertigo fears to one side and climb the steps to the top – the views are absolutely breathtaking.

You must…taste the real Barcelona: Thanks to the mouth watering cuisine and the Spanish atmosphere, cheap holidays to Barcelona are made most memorable. The Catalan cuisine is rich in fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices – its essence lies in its meat and fish sauces. Try fish dishes near the harbour, enjoy a traditional paella washed down with a glass of cava or simply try a Tapa restaurant on Las Ramblas.

You must…hit the beach: Barcelona also boasts many sandy beaches perfect for relaxing on. If the weather isn’t on your side, the beaches are still a great place to take a walk away as they are lined with the city’s famous architecture. When the sun shines you will find there are plenty of activities and water sports to join in with too.

Who Goes Cruising?

The latest research done by few cruise line companies in the UK shows that people over 40 like going on luxury cruises than people from other ages. Seems like all of M4 corridor likes going on cruises. I am only joking. This research started two years ago in June, they wanted to see if the audience will change in that period of time. They have been able to figure out their target market from this research.

80% of the audience had been people who were aged 40 and over in last two years. Remaining 20% were children and people under 40. 0.25% from that 20% were people from age 20 to 30, which is very surprising to be honest. At that age people are at University and after that they racing to get a good job and trying to make it big in the World. 20 to 30 is the time when you have to work very hard to get somewhere in your life, no time for cruise holidays and also don’t think if you have money then either. Most of us are on debt after University because of the loans we borrowed from the Local Education Authority, so cannot afford a cruising holiday.

People over 40 have had few years to save money or they are obviously doing well in your life. As you get more experience you tend to get job offers with more money, then you can save for luxury cruises. The research was very interest, which was done by MSC cruises & Windstar Cruises in finding out who their target audiences were.

This information can be useful for people working in the travel industry (like me), especially cruising. Now I know what age like going to luxury cruises and what age like going to short trips. Hope this post was useful for you too.

Bermuda Is A Great Place To Spend Your Long Lost Holidays!

Lost in the sense that you will actually get lost in its beauty! much like the rest of the Caribbean islands, this one is just as glorious as you would expect it to be. Bermuda is best known for its glorious beaches and some of the fantastic diving opportunities that surround it. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, then the only one i will recommend on this island is the Coco Reef hotel!

Bermuda is actually a British overseas territory, one of the last remaining! The other great thing about Bermuda is that you can enjoy plenty of different cultures, as Bermuda is one of the most culturally diverse of all the islands. Just make sure that you venture out into Bermuda, and experience the cuisine as well as the people. Fabulous Thailand

There are many people who choose to go to Asia each year on one of those Thailand holidays and there are many reasons for this. Thailand has a great deal more on offer than people first think and there are so many things to do out there if you wanted to. Here are some of the things you can do in this amazing place.

Elephant Hills
Needless to say, these are tours involving elephants. If you have never been on an elephant before ( I can imagine that are lot of people out there haven’t) then it is something that I would really recommend. Going on a tour on the back of an elephant is just one of the opportunities that Thailand has to offer which you should never miss out on. This one is worth booking up early because on this popular trek you get to take in some of the most amazing landscapes in the country.

The Bridge Over River Kwai
You can catch a train that goes over the river Kwai and ends up near the museum dedicated to those prisoners of war who were forced to build the railway line through the jungle and mountains. Although it doesn’t sound like something necessarily great to do on a tropical holiday the views you get from the train as it travels toward the museum are simply amazing. If you can, then make sure you allow yourself a few days to make this excursion because it makes a number of stops and there is a lot to see in each one.

In the end it is your choice whether you go to Asia to see the sights in Thailand or head west across the Atlantic to the Caribbean to places like Barbados  or maybe a slightly closer destination such as Dubai. The choice is entirely up to you to find out what your personal favourite is.

You’re very lucky if you are able to choose from any of these destinations when planning your next holiday and I can really recommend going on one of these vacations because when I went I was taken aback at how amazing the places can actually be!

Travel To Japan

From the snow capped peaks of Fujiten to the dazzling bright lights of Tokyo, Japan is an extremely diverse country, made up of over 6,850 islands. It can be found facing out towards the Pacific Ocean while neatly curling around Russia, North and South Korea and China, separated by the Sea of Okhotsk to its North and the East China Sea in the South.

This ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ is now more widely known for its superior technology and creative inventions, but Japan exudes a strength that comes from its powerful heritage. Explore Japan in the day to discover the shrines and temples of past empires, such as the Sesoji Temple in Asakusa, Low Town. This Buddhist temple is one of the largest and apparently houses the statue of the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, where you’ll see locals and tourists alike, embroiled in the tradition of throwing coins and bowing their heads in prayer. Another authentic Buddhist temple is the 17th century independent Kiyomizu-dera, to the east of Kyoto. As well as unparalleled views over the city, this UNESCO World Heritage site’s ancient prayer rituals are said to help those seeking love. The Himeji Castle is also known as the White Egret Castle and is found in the West of Kansai; with its walled garden it was originally built in 1333 and it is hugely popular with tourists worldwide.

For examples of Japanese architecture at its finest, visit the Imperial Palace in the centre of Tokyo. Originally built in 1888 and restored after World War II, you can walk the grounds of Japan’s Imperial Family residence and experience the views from the Outer Palace Garden over the Nijubashi Bridge. For shopping and entertainment, Ginza is Tokyo’s most renowned shopping district, while Gion in Kyoto houses the old Minamiza or the Kobu Kaburenjo kabuki theatres which stage dramatic re- creations of stories through the ages, involving myths and Geishas.

Natural attractions include the Cherry Blossom festivals that take place throughout the country between January and April or the 3 mile Gyokusendo Cave which is actually a part of the Okinawa World theme park. There is also Kenroku-en Garden in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, which is home to 25 acres of Japanese gardens and for the more adventurous, head to the recognised landmark of Mount Fuji for the day and make the 4 mile climb to its summit.

At night the benefits of modern day Japan really spring to life as all the major cities light up the sky, with vibrant Tokyo topping the bill with its fast-paced lifestyle and contemporary art scene. Each city will offer you something different from the live street music in Osaka in the South to the renowned jazz clubs in central Yokohama and Nagoya. You can head to the stylish restaurants, bars and live music venues in Nagasaki or enjoy the progressive scene of Sapporo in the North with its vast nightlife district of Susukino – where most things are done on a huge scale with clubs such as King Xmhu.

If you’re thinking of getting away from it all, you can find great travel deals with British Airways Offers.

Best Places In The United States For Visiting

Travelling to the United States for a long or short trip offers so many possibilities. This part of the globe has something to suit people of all ages. In fact you could devote all your future holiday time to visits to the US and you would never get bored. The following are just an example of some of the great places to visit in the US.

New York.

There are many people who say that until you have seen New York, you have never seen a city. Even though New York is not the largest city in the world, there are few cities that are more exciting. You can have so much fun here and there is lots to do such as walking around sightseeing, shopping or going to a show. The Big Apple has so much to offer and you will never be happy with just one visit here.

Florida.

The most famous destination in Florida is probably Disney World, but there is also a lot more to see. Florida has some great beaches for those who like the sun and some of the hotels available are truly out of this world. There are a myriad of entertainment venues here as well as the world famous Disney World. For some people Florida is the only part of the United States they ever want to see.

San Francisco. San Francisco is considered by many to have had the best of times during the sixties although there are plenty of people who still think that the best is yet to come for this exciting city. You will really want to spend a few days here to appreciate its entire beauty.

San Diego.

San Diego is situated in California and is a beautiful city where you will always be met with a warm welcome. If you stay in San Diego you can travel across to Mexico and back in one day as it is on the Mexican border. San Diego has something different to offer the traveller so is definitely worth a visit.

Probably one of the best known names in business is virgin mobile. And this huge company was established by none other than richard branson. Another arm of the business is virgin america.

Useful Info About South Uist Vacations

The Isle of South Uist is found in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The islands which are inhabited are North Uist, South Uist, Lewis, Isle of Harris, Barra, Benbecula and Eriskay plus hundreds of islands which are uninhabited. In the article below I introduce the island of South Uist and describe why the island is such a great place in which to have a short vacation, also I suggest some South Uist hotels.

The islands of the Hebrides are unique, they feature totally unique kinds of flora and fauna in a spectacular countryside with some of the most awesome coastline in the United Kingdom. The culture of the Hebrides is a fascinating blend of Norse, Celtic and Gaelic influences, which could also be said to be unique.

On the island of South Uist, particularly in the west, you will discover the most beautiful beaches and a little inland large patches land known as machair. Machair is unique to this part of the world, it is a kind of incredibly fertile, low-lying meadow which features masses of wildflowers during the spring and summer months. Many people believe that the beaches on South Uist are the most beuatiful in the country, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and possibly Europe.

The island of South Uist is also a superb place to play golf. Askernish Golf Course is the oldest golf course to be found in the Outer Hebrides and it was designed by the famous Old Tom Morris (the designer of St Andrews’ Old Course) and many others in the country. Sadly the golf course was damaged and it is in need of restoration before it can be once again played upon however you will find many other places to play golf across the islands.

Of course South Uist features masses of opportunities to enjoy a vast array of sports. Water sports such as surfing are immensely popular and nearly everybody can enjoy a spot of rambling. Other than golf the most popular sport remains fishing though more cyclists appear annually.

Even though the island does not have masses of galleries and museums it has sufficient to keep visitors entertained during wet weather. Museums like Kildonan Museum focus on local life and the islands association with Bonnie Prince Charlie and Flora MacDonald.

Accommodation On South Uist

Polochar Inn is located in the town of Lochboisdale in the southerly part of the island. This is a four star South Uist hotel which looks out over to the islands of Barra and Eriskay. All rooms are en-suite and they all feature Wi-Fi.

South Uist self catering accommodation is excellent for small groups and families. 10 Bun A Mhullin is a roomy self catering house/cottage on Eriskay which is joined to South Uist by a bridge.

If you currently considering a South Uist vacation please take a look at our listings of South Uist hotel accommodation.

Taking A Spa Holiday On A Budget

Taking a spa holiday used to be an extremely expensive process, and something that was generally enjoyed only by people who were upper class, or at least very well-off. With spas increasing in both number and popularity however, competition is increasing and, as a result, prices have been driven down. This means that spas have now become far more affordable, and therefore far more accessible.

If you’re willing to spend a little bit of time shopping around online, you’ll find numerous affordable spa breaks. Whether it’s a spa resort or a day spa you’re after, you’ll be able to find an option online that fits into your price range.

If you’re willing to travel in the off-season, you could save a considerable amount of money. Obviously it depends on the location and type of spa you’re visiting, but generally off-season will be during the winter months. Do some research and have a look how much cheaper your holiday could be if you took it in the off-season; if you’re happy with travelling during this period you should be able to take a budget spa holiday.

On the whole, spa resorts will require a three night minimum stay, with the prices being at their highest on the weekend. If you took a three day break beginning on a Monday for example, your holiday should work out cheaper than the same length of trip starting on a Friday or Thursday.

If you’re staying at a destination spa, it might be worth booking into a cheap local hotel the night before you’re due to check in. This way you’ll be able to head over to the spa and get in a full day of therapies, massage and activities. If you are planning to spend a lot of money on a spa holdiay, you should do your best to make sure you get your money’s worth.

With this in mind, you should try and remember that most of the toiletries, consumables, etc. are built into the price of your room; so if your accomodation features spa skin care products, there’s no reason you shouldn’t take them home with you.

Why Is France Such A Popular Holiday Destination

France is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the planet. There are so many people from countries all over the world who choose to go to France and they are not disappointed with their choice. Here are just some of the reasons why you might want to choose France as a holiday destination.

- The sophisticated culture of France is envied all over the world. They just seem to know how to do things in a certain way that makes many of us want to emulate them. Most of us would struggle to be as chic as the French and for them it is almost effortless. The shopaholic will absolutely adore going to France to do a bit of shopping.

- There are numerous geographical features in and around France as well as a huge variety of scenery. You can enjoy the extremes by skiing in the snow in the Alps or sunbathing in the south of France. Every part of France has its own unique features and attractions.

- The infrastructure in France is great and it is really easy to travel around the country. France has a fantastic rail network with many high speed trains which can take you across the country in a really short space of time. It is also really easy to drive on the French roads.

- French food is admired around the world and you have to go there to sample the real thing. There is so much variety and plenty of choice and each part of the country has different dishes for you to sample. And one thing that should not be missed is the opportunity to try some French cheese.

- The French also have a great selection of wine; in fact there is so much that you will be confused about which ones to try. And don’t forget to take some bottles home with you because it is very cheap to buy wine in France.

Tickets for the Eurotunnel, London and England (billet londres) are vital for your trip to the UK (voyage angleterre). And then you would have to start planning for a stay in an English hotel (hotel angleterre).

Check Out These 4 Top Caribbean Beaches!

Decided on a holiday to the Caribbean? Working out where exactly in the Caribbean you want to visit is the tricky part! So why not narrow down the search with this list of the best beaches in the Caribbean:

  1. Barbados, Crane Beach: Arguably the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean, this can only be accessed when going out the back of the Crane Resort. Either side of this white sandy beach is towering Cliffs and provides a naturally protected Coral Reef. Swimming, is this your thing, then if it is then you cannot go far wrong here. If you do not stay here, you can still access it with a small fee!
  2. Antigua, Johnson’s Point: Along this beach is a whole host of cove areas, perfect for you to just relax in. If you want to try your hand at some diving then all you need to do is travel over to the Pigeon Island from the Beach and enjoy the clear waters. Men and Women alike, sorry but you will not be able to strip off and sunbathe here, it is strictly prohibited, as an illegal activity!
  3. This is one of the most fantastic of all the beaches, the Casuarinas Beach in St Vincent and the Grenadines. It all depends on how you have envisaged it! With the coconut trees and empty palm trees all over the beach and grassland. It really does have the feeling of a castaway island!
  4. Jamaica, Negril Beach: Considered by some as the place for couples to be when they go on holiday! You can enjoy sunbathing naked in many of the beaches around here! Although there are some annoying locals, with the occasional whistle, this is probably the most attractive of all the beaches in Jamaica! This beach is nowhere near as busy as the more popular beach on the 7 mile long beach!

Caribbean holidays, Barbados holidays and Jamaica holidays are enjoyable for everyone. If Jamaica is the place for you, then make sure that you go without the entire family, just take your partner!

Are There Some Holidays That Could Suit You Better This Year?

Most of the time you hear about holidays to Spain or France, or somewhere in Europe, which isn’t that great! Instead here are a few different holidays for you to consider!

  • Barbados is probably the most popular destination to visit in the Caribbean. There is a lot of different things to do, and so much to suit so many different people. Because of its location Barbados can offer both a relaxing atmosphere and a party atmosphere. Barbados holidays have become very popular with young holiday makers for the night life and beach life. This place does make a good impression with the young couples and older couples too. Of course there are so many sports activities to get stuck in with, including diving, water skiing and jet skiing, and the promenade provides all kinds of bars and shops!
  • Thailand, probably not what you would first think of! If you want something more adventurous and “motion” based then you should definitely give Thailand a go. For far eastern travelling, this is one of the best places to begin your journey. As you move down through the country you will be confronted with waves of westernised culture and then be thrown back in the more relaxed and less urbanised areas. Bangkok and Phuket are two of the most popular destinations; just remember to keep your wits about you! Thailand holidays are an amazing way to experience a completely different culture, and believe it or not some of the worlds most luxurious hotels are here as well! I recommend looking into the “Evason Six Senses Hideaway”!
  • Keeping to the far East and we hit bali, probably the most peaceful of all the holiday choices. Are Spa holidays your thing? If you are a lover of relaxation and chilling with your feet up then there is really no better place. Some of the hotels are absolutely beautiful, and the scenery is so stunning it is difficult to describe. You will never get bored of the spa treatment, because there are so many to choose from! Bali holidays are made for those that have the time to just chill out and enjoy the time they have with a partner. If you go alone, then you are more than likely to meet someone you may like anyway?

Dolphin Lovers Destinations

There are several destinations out there where you can swim with the dolphins but which ones are the best ones. For your kids a holiday and a chance to swim with the dolphins would definitely be a great holiday for them and even you. It is not possible to have a dolphin in your own swimming pools that is why these holidays are very popular within dolphin lovers.

There are places in Australia, New Zealand, The Bahamas, Florida, Hawaii, Costa Rica and many more where you can swim with the dolphins. Places such as Florida, The Bahamas and Hawaii are definitely up there providing the best swim with the dolphins because of the weather/temperature as it stays the same all year long. This adventure can also be enjoyed in cities such as Victoria and Perth in Australia and the weather there is pretty good too all year long.

The top two attractions out of the above names are the Bahamas and Hawaii. Florida certainly is also famous for it’s dolphin adventures but people know it more for the Disney World.

Experiences in Hawaii

Magical Island Hawaii Retreat, Joan Ocean Dolphin Connection, Wild Side ECO Adventures and Dolphin quest.

Dolphin adventures in Florida

Dolphin Plus Key Largo, Human Dolphin Institute, Dolphin World, Discovery Cove Orlando, Adventures Key West, Wild About Dolphins and Wild Dolphin.

Experiences in the Bahamas

The Dream Team, Sea Fever Diving Cruises, Planetary Partnersm, Bimini Bahamas, Synergy Dolphin Experience, Wild Dolphin Swim and The Divine Dolphin.

Right all the above will provide you with the experience of swimming with the dolphins. The accommodation you will be provided with at these destinations will also have spas and swimming pools to help you relax after a good adventure. Make sure they clean their swimming pools with swimming pool chemicals and also keep it cover all the time when not in use with swimming pool covers so that your skin doesn’t get irritated or any sorts of rash.

Social Profiles Of People To Meet On Silversea Cruises

Being working on cruise boats for several years as a photographer gave me the chance to meet many different people. I would say that being in a boat for 2 or more weeks generates some very different dynamics compared to the time we spend on the ground. People seem to be more open and relaxed as admittedly they will accept the fact that the boat is where everything happens from developing a new friendship and flirting with someone to breaking up and divorcing!

A luxury boat that is moving into the seven seas is like a small floating city. One factor many people overlook at is the fact that on board there aren’t just passengers and holiday-makers but also members of staff that have to stay on the boat for long periods of time. Although this is against the regulations, there is a lot of social interaction between the members of stuff and the clients.

The most typical profile a passenger is that he is around 60 years old, retired and wealthy. Although they all belong to different professions and educational backgrounds, the bottom line is that the vast majority of them are very successful in their fields. Apart from the expected diplomats, lawyers, architects, doctors and highly credited professionals it’s common to come across shop keepers, vendors and many small scale businessmen. So, education isn’t a key factor although wealth seems to be.

Nevertheless, there is always a smaller percentage of people who are considerably having less but would love to try a luxury cruise. Some of them simply want to experience a different lifestyle which differs from their daily one greatly. Even though I gained most of my experiences on Silversea Cruises boats where I worked, other colleagues that used to work on Oceania Cruises and Cunard Cruises have had similar experiences.

Talking about sports, golf is definitely the king with tenis and polo being popular too. Taking up a luxury cruise for many people could be a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience but it is definitely worth it..
