Why Nile River Cruises Are Magic

I’ve been lucky enough to travel in many different continents and countries throughout my life. Having experienced great moments of awe and admiration towards the nature’s miracles. From the high altitudes of the Peruvian mountains to the vast Amazon forest and from the glaciers of Patagonia to Morroco’s old clay towns there are so many memories and emotions to recall.

When it comes to choosing one of all those moments, I would definitely recall my time in the river Nile as the most electrifying one. it is impossible to put into words all those emotions and that great energy of the powerful river that used to be as sacred as the Sun. Until that day I wasn’t keen on river cruises as I couldn’t see any point having a cruise in a river.

Being a typical sea-born person I wouldn’t expect to feel so good anywhere far from the sea. Although I had spent some years of my life living in Budapest and Prague that were built in the Danube’s banks, I was never amazed by any river until that day.

So, it was during the time I was in Egypt when a good friend of mine came across various cruise deals and convinced me that we should picked one up. According to his beliefs, for some of the greatest experiences in life there is only one chance which should not be missed. There were so many tour operators selling Nile River Cruises at the town of Aswan that I couldn’t resist trying a river cruise for the first time.

The hours we spent in the Nile were just unforgettable. Because its mouth is located into the Mediterranean sea the whole landscape seemed familiar. Just the thought that we were traversing the world’s longest river made me shiver and think of how many people’s lives were depending on that river which stretches all the way from Egypt to Ethiopia. So intense was the experience I had that it makes no wonder why ancient Egyptians worship had the Nile at its center.

This is where you need some info so that you can work out where you want to go, so check out some of the stuff below!

Egypt holidays have become one of the most popular holiday makers choice across the world. It’s large size means that it houses many great holiday locations with places like Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada topping the list for most visited places in Egypt. If you would like to go out Quad Biking and embark on some adventures then this is perfect, Egypt is amazing. Those creatures that always look really moody, the Camel, is a must try. Although you will probably only try it once, you have to give it a go if you go to Egypt. Obviously Egypt is home to one of the greatest wonders in the world, the Pyramids. Things To Do In Egypt

There do seem to be a lot of people out there that think that going on one of those Egypt holidays is a complete waste of time as you can see everything the country has to offer in any decent museum across the world. Well in all honest opinion these people are just plain mad, Egypt has far more on offer other than just the history that you can go and see.

Diving

The Red Sea really does deserve its reputation for being one of the top diving destinations in the world as it is simply packed with colourful marine life and the water is crystal clear and landscaped with coral.

Camel Trading

No this is not something that you should jump in and take part in but something that it is very interesting to watch. This experience really is a very unique one indeed and it has to be watched.

Sport

This is not something that many people actually think about when they are thinking about making a trip to Egypt but it would seem that if you are into your golf it can be a great place to visit. This is because there are over 20 courses in the country and they range from playing in sight of the Pyramids to teeing off very close to the Red Sea itself.

Haggling

Make sure that at least once you get down to a market and start a bit of haggling with someone, try and get something you like for a small price, it is a great experience. It is a truly great but yet strange experience to take part in and there are many establishments that have actually been around for over 100 years.

So there you have it, get off to Egypt and take a vacation. Failing this why not try one of those Dubai holidaysor Barbados holidays.

If You Are Planning A Trip To Egypt This Year, I Recommend These Places To Visit!

Are you thinking of going to Egypt this year for your holiday? Well if you are then you are in luck because listed below are the best places for you to visit when you get there!

  1. Ok number one on the list is a bit of an obvious one, the Pyramids of Giza. These are some of the most majestic wonders in the world, when you actually think about the technology they had to build these (which was none).
  2. The second one is actually the whole place. The capital of Egypt Cairo is very busy, but still worth seeing. This is the number 1 place for you to experience what the Egyptian culture is all about.
  3. Whenever possible, you need to take a trip down to the Nile. This is such a relaxing experience, taking a leisurely cruise down the Nile, great fun for all. Luckily there are some amazing ships that are prepared to take tourists for an elegant ride down the Nile, and usually for a very good price as well.
  4. Visit the Sphinx! You will be completely stunned by this creations prominence. This will really make you understand what the word unique really means. There is still arguments between scientists about what its purpose was and why and who built it!
  5. This last one is the Temples of Karnak. This is something that everybody should take some time to see! There is always time to visit the place that was once worshipped by the Egyptians to all of their gods, if not then make time! There is a monument there to almost every god in the area!

Now you know where to visit when you are staying in your Egypt hotels on your Egypt holidays! Don’t forget to visit Sharm, or stay in the Hurghada hotels!

Going on holiday to Sharm El Sheikh? Don’t forget these items!

Right like many others you are preparing to go on your Sharm El Sheikh holiday. You are almost all ready to finish packing and then you realise that you haven’t checked to see if there is anything important you may need. Just always make sure that you have your passport and some airline tickets, else your in trouble!

So what do we know about Sharm El Sheikh, well a couple of clearly stated points are:

  • It is very warm and in most cases boiling hot.
  • There is a shed load of sun, there is no escaping it.
  • Never forget how much sand there will be, it is everywhere, everywhere I tell you.
  • This is known as the diving capital of the world.

Now what can we establish from this? Well we can use this to make informed decisions on what else may be able to help us. This country may be very warm and quite dry, but it is important to remember the cultures. So bear in mind that revealing too much flesh can be disrespectful, take some clothes that will fully cover your legs, arms and stomach, sorry ladies but especially you. Next is that you need to take hat, I know it sounds silly, if you don’t use it you could be left to passing out from the heat, so either buy one there or buy one before hand.

OK then, next up is something for all of you diving and swimming enthusiasts, remember that if you go on holiday anywhere and do not going with a tour operator that specialises in diving, it can be hard to find a wet suit available to rent. Don’t take a few pairs of High heels, ladies we all know that you like to look nice, but trainers are extremely important here, even hiking boots in some cases, there is a lot of sand, and soft roads.

Sharm El Sheikh holidays for all, this is such a popular holiday these days, now however people still seem more interested in Caribbean holidays and on the other side of Egypt, Hurghada holidays.

The Top 4 things not to do in Brazil!

OK right here is another one of those helpful or not so helpful travel guides with a twist. You can find reams of lists about what you should do on your holiday, but nowhere can you find a vast amount of lists of what not to do. Now I am not a scare monger er, I just want to make sure that people realise what is actually out there sometimes.

Try not to look like much of a tourist, standing out can be a good thing, but most of the time it isn’t. This might sound stupid, but the crime rate in Brazil is extremely high, so make sure that you are vigilant. As soon as someone can spot you over and over again, you become their target.

Be wary of what you drink. Always drink bottled water, do your best to get this instead of the conventional tap water. The water isn’t very pleasant here; in fact it is quite a terrible and will not agree with your stomach at all. If you drink a fair amount of the tap water, you could find yourself in a bathroom holiday!

Don’t walk off from your tour guide, i may repeat myself. Oh my god you wouldn’t believe how stupid some people are. Do not leave your guide when your in an unfamiliar place. This country does consist of several nasty little creatures.

Do not be rude. Your mother probably told you that you should treat people the way you want to be treated, well this was sound advice. Do not be bolshie or aggressive, you wll than likely find yourself in a situation that could be very difficult to get out of. Treat these people with respect, if you do you will find they are very friendly.

Brazil holidays are becoming very popular, just keep in mid the above, even if you are on Luxury holidays. If this isn’t something that you are interested in then I can recommend more relaxing holidays like; Cuba holidays or Egypt holidays.

King Tut and the Tombs of Egypts Pharaohs Are Well Worth a Visit

The Valley of the Kings is one of Egypt’s top tourist destinations – averaging over 4,500 visitors daily. Of the 63 tombs, only 18 are open for public viewing and rarely at the same time. The most famous and most visited tomb is that of King Tut. The famous boy king’s may not be as impressive in size as some of the others, but it’s a popular site that tops most tourists’ lists. It’s a good idea to make a plan before you leave so that you can enjoy yourself when you arrive. Here are some top tips to to help you plan your journey:

Guided or solo?

You can choose to either navigate the valley on your own or with a tour guide. While tour guides are not allowed to lecture within the tombs, they can help you plan your journey and will answer any questions you have before and after. On any given day only certain tombs will be open so they can help you choose the best ones. Solo travellers should make a list of their top ten tombs, then you can see what’s open on the day and select your viewing from there.

Dress Comfortably

The summer months in Egypt can be unbearably hot. Fortunately, unlike many other places in Egypt there is no problem of dressing like a tourist – light clothing, sunglasses and a hat are strongly encouraged to keep you comfortable in the hot Egyptian sun.

Have a plan

There is loads to see and do and even the most efficient holidaymaker won’t be able to see it all. The more you know about Egyptian culture, the more you will be able to appreciate it on your trip. If you’ve got an antiquities museum nearby, go for a visit prior to your trip. The British Museumin London will give you a great insight into Egyptian culture, making your visit more insightful. You don’t need to visit a museum however – there is loads of material online that can provide you with an informative background. Heritage Key in particular is great – you can even explore the Valley of the Kings virtually with your own personal avatar!

Don’t get ‘tombed out’

While all the tombs are unique in their own right, it recommended that you only visit three or fourSerious tomb researchers may enjoy visiting all that’s on offer but if you’ve just got a normal interest, it’s suggested you only visit three or four on your trip. The West Bank of the Nile offers many more amazing sights to see like ornate temples and magnificent monuments. Also the Egyptian Museum in Cairo is home to some of Egypt’s great antiquities including the solid gold death mask of King Tut.

With a bit of forward planning, you’ll have an excellent trip visiting the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings is so rich with ancient mystery that it really needs to be visited for itself. Enjoy yourself and be sure to bring plenty of water and sun block!

Top Luxury Destinations for 2010!

Listed here are the expected top 6 luxury holidays destinations for this year, and there are some crackers!

When looking at the list of holidays that New Yorkers believe could be the top holidays, they listed Sri Lanka as the top luxury holidays this year. Although it will cost a lot for you to reach, you won’t have to spend barely a penny when you get here. This is one of the most relaxing locations in the world, probably and it is aided by the views surrounding it.

The most luxurious place in the world, the Maldives (except Dubai). All of the hotels are built on small islands that usually hover above the sea in some parts as well. If you want to do something, the best option is just to walk down to the health spa. Diving is the actual “recreational” based activity that you can take part in, with some amazing different species of animals for you to see!

St Lucia, the Caribbean, this was bound to crop up at some point. All those that want to holiday like a celebrity then the Caribbean has got to be your choice. There are many places that you can stay, where the accommodation is a little cheaper and lower star rating. If you want to relax in a tropical yet hot environment, by the beach all the time, then St Lucia is a great option, and the drinks are good too!

Sharm El Sheikh. Now this does have some mixed reviews, some people really like it, and some people don’t, but many people visit every year. Egypt is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, and is definitely not short of Luxury hotels. This one of the cheapest possible luxury locations to visit, and the hotels are truly amazing, the living standards are just as good as anywhere else. This is by far and away one of the best places to indulge in some diving, the Red Sea offers everything from wreck diving to Shark Diving!

There are some others that are close to the top like Cuba holidays, any Caribbean holidays for that matter, and you never know you might find yourself indulging in Weddings abroad, suggest it to the Boyfriend, and see what happens!

Why go on holiday to India?

India is one of those countries that you have to visit before the end of time. There are so many different places in India that need to be visited that it would take about 6 months to visit every part and spend a couple of days there. Delhi and Mumbai are the real power-house cities of India, pushing everything along.

There is nothing quite like a good meal from India, the food and tastes of that food are truly amazing, some of the best “Grub” in the world comes from here. Cricket and the food that you can find in Mumbai has been critically acclaimed, with people dedicating much time to write about it. You would be surprised at how advanced Mumbai really is, with some amazing technological advancements over the past two decades. Mumbai has now taken over a large portion of the economic gains in India, and is one of the most efficient cities in the world. Tourists have been more keen to visit India, mainly because of the advancements in this countries cities.

If you want to see somewhere that has massive religious bearing, then you should definitely visit Delhi. In the News and the limelight Delhi has taken over the world as the most popular city in India, with key points in a Trade Route. Delhi as well as Mumbai has greatly increased in its technological advancement, with a stable transport system and some very luxurious hotels. New Delhi is the capital of India, and it is quite a prospering capital too. Many business men and women reside around here, and the education is phenomenal. There is an astonishing amount of activities in India, including visiting the Zoo’s and seeing some of the rarest animals in the world, and let’s not forget riding on a Rickshaw.

If you are interested in maybe trying something else instead of India, I recommened Egypt for great Luxury holidays, Hurghada holidays have really taken off, and so have the Sharm El Sheikh holidays, now becoming the number 1 holiday in Egypt!

I don’t fly often and my last Egypt trip was scary!

Hi I am David, and it’s been a very long time since I last went on holiday on a plane. More than 10 years ago was the last time I fainted when flying. Now I didn’t feel as though I had a fear of flying, I have never really been scared about the prospect of flying, I just passed out. Going back on to a plane was very low on my priority list, and decided to stay at home for holidays in future, may sound sad, but obviously it wasn’t in the house. About 2 years into my marriage, it was time to face my fears and get on a plane, all that way to Egypt, a massive mission!

Right, flashbacks of jumping on the plane happy as Larry and waking up on the other side (without any recollection of flight) started to happen… When I returned from my last holiday I passed out as well, however I have no idea why, and it was a while ago now, so I got a little scared! I decided to “Man Up” as one of my friends had told me and I didn’t say anything to my wife, I just got on the plane. As far as i could tell, once i sat down everything was fine, I wasn’t losing my mind, and my vision was going blurry, I didn’t feel as though i was going to pass out or anything. Then the engines started, and still, I was ok, even when we were moving to the run way I felt fine!

I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t pass out this time, or why I passed out the last time, everything just seemed to be fine this time. I was actually getting pretty excited about my holiday now. I was really looking forward to getting to Egypt, and then jumping back on the plane. Everything just couldn’t stay going all smooth could it! Over the Tannoy I could hear the Captain announce we were heading into some rough turbulence. OK I braced myself, and it was really rocking and shaking from side to side, I was really scared, and there was even a storm outside, things couldn’t have looked much worse. Then It was over, as quick as it had started it had finished. I never thought I would be saying this, but I kind of wish I blacked out!

Egypt holidays Didn’t actually appeal to me that much, and i never went back, next up was a decision between Maldives holidays or Sri Lanka holidays, both involve a plane!

What did ancient Pharoah’s use Alabasters for

Stonework was one of the earliest industries in ancient Egypt.  A natural wealth of decorative stone was first exploited during the Pre-Dynastic period ( 4,000 BC ) and assorted quarry sites yielded basalt, breccia, granite, porphyry, limestone and alabaster.  2 ancient alabaster quarry sites have been identified, one at Wadi Gera and the other near Helena and in an area south of Mania.  While Egyptian alabaster, geologically known as Calcium carbonate, was worked from the Pre-Dynastic time on, it was most well liked in the New dominion.  The utilization of alabaster in Egypt dates well back into the Pharaonic period of Egyptian history, and it is obvious when one visits the temples, tombs and museums in Egypt.

the first alabaster was a type of Calcite, a see-through spread or gypsum.  On the hardness scale of 1 to 10, the alabaster would stand at just 2 to 2.5 soft enough to scratch with a fingernail.  Because of the low toughness, it is very easy to carve and polish, but it’s also easily weathered, particularly in wet conditions.  Due to its softness , alabaster is typically carved for statuary and other decorative purposes.  Ancient pharaohs used alabaster for many purposes, including household items, ritual objects, and for a variety of different funerary purposes like sarcophaguses and canopic equipments.

The Working of hard stone reached its height in the third and 4th dynasties ( 2600 – 2400 BC ).  The early vessels were of simple but chic shape, often with flat broad edges and little lug handles for suspension.  The ancient artisans demonstrated their mastery of this medium as they formed hard stone as if it were clay, manufacturing a variety of finely crafted vessels.  There have been no intact stone drilling tools recovered from ancient Egypt, although part of a stone employee toll kit survived.  Decorative tomb paintings showing everyday life scenes have been the best source of info as to how stone pots were carved.

Make a decision to spend your vacation in Egypt

If you make a decision to pass your holiday in Egypt, generally you have got a choice of 2 sea resorts – Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh.  both are extremely popular, but Hurghada is situated in African continent while Sharm El Sheikh lies on Sinai spur.

About 30 years gone Hurghada was merely a simple fishing village.  But now, with it’s a resort with wonderfully clear water, untouched reefs.  It’s become one of the finest Egyptian holiday maker destinations.  A significant part of its celebrity Hurghada gained as one of the finest diving centres of the Earth.  Like all oriental cities Hurghada make living out of trade, so if when you walk along the town, be prepared to beat off the pressing offers of the sellers, meriting to make you buy their souvenirs.  There are some more entertainments except shopping and diving in Hurghada.  You can make a jeep trip to a desert, visit Bedouin’s hamlet there ; you can see corals and some natural preserves.  Hurghada is also has aqua-park.  Fishing is one of the well-liked holiday maker’s activities in Hurghada too.  Today, Hurghada is understood as a party town, particularly among europeans.  Locals and others will tell you that life starts at night in Hurghada, with the many , many clubs.  The best time to visit Hurghada is October-November.  In winter there are powerful winds and it becomes dark very early.

when you are in Hurghada do not miss the chance to see one of the most excellent monuments of Egypt history – Luxor and the Valley of the King.  Pharaoh’s tombs and traditional temples are worth visiting.

Sharm el-Sheikh is one of the most accessible and developed tourist resort communities on the Sinai promontory.  All around are Bedouins, colourful tents, mountains and sea.  Na’ama Beach is one of the middle of the tourist activities.  Found just north of Sharm, this area is developing into a resort town of its own.  For those that like shopping, the Sharm El-Sheikh mall provides shops with both foreign and local products, including jewellery, leather goods, clothing, pottery and books.  No-one leaves Sharm el-Sheikh without many useless but terribly agreeable souvenirs.  Like Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh is known for diving too, but it has more diversity in corals.

Those, who select Sharm el-Sheikh also has chance to watch the attraction of Sinai cape – The monastery of St Catherine, Mount Sinai ( or Mountain of Moses ), Pharaoh’s Island and Salah El Din citadel, Nabq national Park, Ras Abu Galum national Park and so -called ‘Coloured canyon’.

The last but not the least of the Egypt must-sees is Cairo with its pyramids.  From either Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh it’ll be a long trip, but you may never regret it!

When you going to Egypt, be advised that 3-star hotels in Egypt have nothing to do with 3-star hotels in Europe.  So, it’s better to select four or 5 star hotel.  Likely it saves you from many concerns.  Often , the large hotels have zoos, playgrounds, discos, bars, a number of pools and even small theaters.  So, could be you may to need to leave your hotel.  Anyway, a trip to Egypt promises to be exotic and fascinating expierence.

Pyramids and museums of ancient civilizations

Egypt – the cradle of civilization.  Have you ever needed to see an actual pyramid, to marvel at the most breathtaking architectural works in all of history?  Or enter one and explore the exciting tunnels and chasms within?  Have you ever imagined yourself visiting the crypt of an ancient king and inspecting precious pieces of traditional Egyptian culture?

the most well liked Egyptian tours are visits to Pyramids and museums of ancient civilizations.  Within these ancient Egypt Tours that are generally of a Pharoanic nature, you’ll be able to tour Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, and see not only awesome markers of ancient Egyptian history, but also landmarks of non secular importance.  You can also organize your tour to even include a cruise down the Nile river as well.

there are several tours on offer, some with definite itineraries, others organized according to your preferred route, generally depending on how much you wish to see and how long you plan to stay.  Highlights of the tours include the Giza ( Great Pyramid ) and the Saqqara ( Step ) Pyramids, the citadel, an Islamic market called Khan el-Khalili, as well as other markets, churches and museums, all in Cairo.  In Luxor, the must-see landmarks would be 1 or 2 of the many fine monuments and crypts found on the West Bank, which will turn out to be welcome escapes from the heat of the city.  Make efforts to also visit the Luxor and Karnak churches and the highly popular Luxor museum, all on the East Bank.

although you can fly or catch the train between Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, we highly endorse the bus rides between Luxor and Aswan, as these trips sometimes have stopovers at preferred, consequential monuments along the path.  In Aswan, you could tour Elephantine Island, the Nubian museum and the unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam and St.  Simon’s priory.  If you have an extra day to spare, you could also visit the churches of Abu Simbel, and have more time to see Aswan’s plenty of other attractions.

spiritual tours are also highly popular, such as the Holy Family route and the Exodus route, as well as tours of Islamic mosques.  You can try to imagine Moses leading the chosen people out of Egypt as you follow in their steps.  Unstructured non secular tours are also on offer, permitting you to see highlights from either the Holy Family and Exodus routes, as well as monuments found in the Pharoanic tours.

The ancient Egypt Tour is the ideal vacation for the adventurer in you, and a great academic trip for the entire family, especially if you have around two weeks to spare.  Aside from absorbing the amazing traditional cultures, you may also get to meet a folks who are wonderfully accommodating and friendly.

Tips on enjoying your stay in Egypt

In my capacity as the UK Operations Director for One World Tours Limited, over time, it came to my attention as to what a minefield in can be booking a holiday in a destination like Egypt through the myriad of’internet’ based travel corporations ; especially local Egyptian firms

I so though it could be useful to suggest a type of’checklist’ of things to look for and questions that should be asked’prospective’ vacation providers.

one.  Are they a travel agent or a Tour operator ?

especially at a local level, service from a tour operator is commonly higher than that of an agent as tour booked thru local agents’can’ risk the undeniable fact that the agent is purely passing on your booking to a 3rd party.  This is not always the case, but it is’s something to think about.  Comeback if you have issues is also to be considered as an agent can blame the 3rd party and vice versa.

two.  Do they need a deposit or are they offering payment in full on arrival ?

If the company you are potentially booking through accept payment in full on arrival, it suggests one thing – your aren’t prepared.  While will a company risk booking hotels, tour guides, drivers etc on the of chance you may actually turn up ?

3.  Do they accept mastercards as payment ?

This is vital whether you are planning on paying that way.  Accepting mastercards ( especially in travel fields ) will often mean the Firm has been pretty well vetted and definitely will be offering you some added assurances ( and of course protection )

four.  Do they offer Testimonials…  ?

The second half this query perhaps the most vital part,’Do they offer Testimonials…and are you able to contact them’ ?  If their testimonials are real then certainly there is no reason why they can not be contacted.

5.  Have they got a recognized complaint mechanism ?

Any forward thinking and fair company will know that there’ll always be the peculiar problem.  Having a complaint mechanism in place shows that the company won’t just try and fob you off, but from the bottom up, they will try to reasonably take care of any problems you could have.

Hopefully these five things may help you with regards to your future plans when thinking about a visit to a country such as Egypt.
